At Pace-O-Matic, our mission is to empower communities, inspire hope, and make a meaningful impact. This holiday season, we were honored to join Pennsylvania Representatives Manny Guzman and Danilo Burgos to ensure that the spirit of Thanksgiving reached every table. 

Pennsylvania Skill, powered by Pace-O-Matic, partnered with Rep. Guzman to distribute 1,000 turkeys and 500 pork shoulders to families in need in Reading – some of which became the centerpiece of 5,000 cooked meals for seniors.  We also partnered with Rep. Burgos in Philadelphia to distribute 600 turkeys to residents and purchased an additional 500 turkeys for Feeding Pennsylvania, an organization addressing food insecurity in the Pittsburgh area.  

In total, Pace-O-Matic purchased 2,600 turkeys or pork shoulders from Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market, a Pennsylvania Skill location, to be donated to Pennsylvanians in need.  

With ever-rising costs, many families face financial challenges, especially during the holidays. Gina Jerome, a local Reading resident, shared her concerns about providing for the 30 family members she invited to her celebration. However, thanks to the annual Thanksgiving Resource Fair, those worries turned to joy. Gina, along with her daughter, walked away with not just one but two turkeys, ensuring plenty to share with their family. 

"This is just a really nice thing to do for people,” Gina said. “Now, we can just relax and focus on being together on Thanksgiving.” 

This is the third year Pace-O-Matic has purchased turkeys for giveaway events, part of our commitment to what we value most: supporting the communities in which we operate.  

Giving Back  

For Rep. Guzman, this initiative hits close to home. “I was a kid walking these same streets and standing in these same kinds of lines,” he shared. “There are a lot of families struggling to get by, so I’ll do whatever I can to help make that burden a little easier around the holidays.” 

And we share that commitment. Partnering with leaders like Rep. Guzman and Rep. Burgos allows us to extend a helping hand during moments that matter most. As our spokesperson, Jeanette Krebs, put it: “This is by far the biggest donation that we do during the holiday season, and we are proud to help feed families in need.”
